“BEHIND THE LYRICS”
Sometimes a song comes from a deeper place within yourself, the subconsciousness bringing a message to you.
What I didn’t know, while writing the lyrics for the song “Next Summer” was, that I was pregnant with a little boy. He was born this year in May.
Somehow I think my body and my mind knew it before I did. That 3rd verse – “Next Summer, there will be a test”. That was meant as a metaphor for “having a baby” and wanting to do things differently for my own family.
Still I wanted it to be an open metaphor, so that the listener could think of his of her own test.

I wanted to make something really special for this release, so I figured it was time for a vinyl.
My previous EP “In Vacuo” and the songs from “Next Summer” was actually intended as a full album. But halfway through, I started producing the songs more fully in my own studio and they took a new direction – more synths and sampled drums.
Therefor I decided to split the songs into two EP’s, which also made really good sense lyrically. All the songs from “In Vacuo” is looking back and reflecting upon what was, whereas the songs from “Next Summer” all look to the future and what’s to come.
Still I feel like the two EP’s are two sides of the same story, so I’ve decided to reunite them on a special edition vinyl.

Hiya Ulla, I’ve just listened to Next Summer and again I have to say it’s another stunning track but then again I was under no illusion that it wouldn’t be, the music and the vocals are amazing as always, I suppose my hope for next summer would be that the music industry recognises more of the real talent out there like your good self and not concentrate on the manufactured dross to fill the airwaves void and my dream is to travel to different countries, meet more lovely people and hear a lot more new and exciting music, I wish you every success in your future and I hope you continue to make outstanding music for folk like me to enjoy ☺️?

I love this song can feel the emotion in the vocals and words, is beautiful and emotional. My hope for me next summer is also a dream. All my life have wanted to go to college and get a degree and build a future around what my passion is and that is music. Where I lived in Scotland did not other me the opportunity to study music in college at a higher level and many said for me going to college was pointless, which I look back on and wish that I never listened to them and followed my heart. But now I’m living in Ireland and got amazing opportunity to get my dreams. I previously went back to college and done a level 6 in Instrument Music & Technology, I did not pass two exams but hope to go back next year and resit them and carry on with my dream. Whilst in college have made 3 types of guitar a Mandolin and Electric and Acoustic guitar and written and recorded my own songs and hope to make homemade videos for them. For me the degree will help me setup my own career in music and sound engineer, which is another dream to build a recording studio and record my own songs and other artists.
