?Who Are We To Love?

Lyrics

?

Don’t talk forgiveness to the body

It’s gonna take us heading for heartaches

We carelessly wasted all our chances

We never thought of years and tomorrows

 ?

Who – Who are we to love?

Who are we?

Who are we to love?

 ?

We look through the broken windows

Help us make sense of

what our bodies are saying

Time to forget our selves

Care for all we know are mending the breaking

 ?

Who – Who are we to love?

Who are we?

Who are we to love?

  ?

We should stand

Raise our voices

We give them our bones

Broken slowly

  ?

And you see me run

And you see me loose it

And our cover’s blown away

And we wait for others to make the change

  ?

Ooh, Ooh, mine

Ooh, Ooh, mine

  ?

And you see us run

And you see us loose it

And our cover’s blown away

And we wait for others to make the change

  ?

Ooh, Ooh, mine

 ?

“Thoughts behind the music video”

“For a long time, I wanted to write a song about the environment expressing my concerns about where we’re heading. But I didn’t want the song to be sanctimonious or a lifted finger. Instead I tried to express the double standards that I myself apply. I was  planning to fly to the other side of the world, well knowing how big my CO2 footprint would be. At the same time I see myself as environmentally conscious person and I was having a guilty conscience.

I’ve tried to express those opposing feelings in the song. How much is just words and how much do we really act? How much do we leave for our decision makers or even worse – for our kids?

I decided to use myself and my own pregnant body painted in gold as a symbol of fertility and the earth. The body marred by black oil as a symbol of how we treat the earth and what our children are born into.

I have since then decided to keep my flying to a bare minimum. When I shared my “no-more-flying” decision with my friends and my family, a lot of them seemed to shrug it off. They thought it was going too far. But is it?

I can’t justify it anymore if my kids should ask me about it.

Hiya Ulla, I think the first time I heard this song was on either Instagram or YouTube and followed you immediately, I couldn’t believe that no one I knew hadn’t heard it and had to start telling people straight away about your amazing talent and new music ??

Thank you so much, Stevie. I’m lucky to have someone like you on board who helps my music further out in the world. I have my own label, so no one to help me out with the many tasks that comes with releasing music. Sometimes a bit stressful but I also like it that way… Full control over the creative and how I choose to present the music to the world. That you are liking and sharing the songs is a BIG help. Thank you ?

– Ulla

I love this song and agree something needs to be done about climate change, there is so much out there that is damaging our world and the governments all over the world need to do more and people in general. We all could make a difference if you are walking distance to a town, walk and leave the car at home, try and use products that don’t cause toxins and pollutes the air even dumping waste is bad go to your nearest recycle place and get rid of it safely. Company’s all over the world also need to look at the way they package foods and drinks and other products too, there is a lot that needs to be changed to make a difference but if they don’t the lifespan of the world will get shorter.
